Types of Internet Services

Cross Connects

Cross connects are physical cables that allow you to easily make direct connections between two different termination locations within our data centers. Cross connects are available in Fiber, COAX, and CAT5/6, or in T1 or POTS in some data centers, and can be delivered with various connectors.

Cross connect products provide access to a dynamic ecosystem of customer networks, facilitating traffic exchange, reinforcing network resiliency and enabling disaster recovery within the data center.

Dedicated Internet Access (DIA)

Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) is one of the purest forms of Internet access. With a dedicated plan, your business is the only subscriber to a specified amount of bandwidth – the bandwidth allocated is for your use only. Unlike a shared plan, your access is not oversubscribed, and speeds are guaranteed, not “up to.” Performance is consistent and has guaranteed minimums and uptime. Download and upload speeds are typically synchronous, meaning that they are the same.

Blended Internet

Interconnection is a strategy for ensuring that businesses can privately, securely and directly exchange digital information. The approach, which emerged from attempts to solve the challenge of globally scaling the internet, involves transferring data at geographically advantageous exchange points that are hosted in carrier-neutral data centers. An important goal of interconnection is to enable extremely high bandwidth exchanges with the lowest possible latency, at the lowest cost.

Cloud Direct Connect

Cloud direct connect is a connection between a private network and a public cloud. In the past, all connections to the cloud were from a public network into a public cloud, but with the rise of new technologies, different types of clouds have become available, including public, private, and hybrid. Direct connect allows you to interact with these clouds all from a private, dedicated network.

Private Line (Point to Point)

A private line or tie line is a service that involves dedicated circuits, private switching arrangements, and/or predefined transmission paths, whether virtual or physical, which provide communications between specific locations. Most private lines connect only two locations though they may be switched at either end or both. Some have multiple drop points.

Private line services deliver high-bandwidth, secure and reliable point-to-point connectivity options through extensive inter-city and metropolitan backbone fiber systems across the nation.

Wireless 5G Internet

5G stands for the fifth generation of mobile communication networks. Data transfer speeds will be about 10 times higher with 5G than is possible with 4G. That means significantly faster transmission speeds. 5G reduces latency, making it possible, for example, to transmit data with no delays or glitches. Cell towers equipped with 5G technology would have greatly increased capacity over 4G/LTE. That means more people and more devices should be able to communicate at the same time.
